Join the team – Manager needed!


HatHats Coffee will soon (subject to contract) take over the running of Reculver Visitor and Education Centre and are looking forward to bringing our vision for a ‘Good Cup Of Coffee’ to the centre, along with other exciting plans to create an adaptive space for the community and the 200,000 + visitors to the area every year.

We are after a centre manager to work with us on the setup and running of the centre. The role will involve working with the Directors on the  budget and profitability of the outlet, building a team and developing working partnerships.

Along with the responsibility for the day to day trading of the centre your remit will be to help expand the centres use, we have some exciting plans to hold events and activities and want to enhance the education offer. Working alongside the marketing team and  Amelix Education Resources your job will be to assist in engaging with schools visiting the centre for field trips.

You will assist with staff recruitment and be responsible for all ordering and record keeping at the centre.

Ideally, we are after someone who has experience in the hospitality industry and can pull a mean espresso, however we will give you full training – we want someone with the right attitude who is willing to take ownership of centre and understands that it is not a Monday – Friday Job.

The job is a full time, permanent job (30 – 40 hours per week, however there is negotiation on this to fit circumstances), however weekend work and early morning / evening work would be expected.

The number of visitors to the centre is very seasonal with April – September being peak periods for the business.

Pay £18,750 – £22,650

We would expect the successful candidate to have:

A vision on the possibilities of what we could do with the centre

Good written and spoken English

  • Willingness to learn
  • Other skills that would advantageous but not essential:
  • Experience with making coffee (Full training given at our roasters)
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office programmes and ordering systems
  • Any experience in the hospitality management
  • A driving licence and own transport

The job will be based at Reculver Visitor Centre, however you will spend some time working at the companies head office in Whitstable.

We are hoping to launch in July / August but will all depend on how long the contract for the centre takes to finalise with the lawyers.
