HatHats Coffee celebrates 12 months in Reculver with Prestigious Award Nomination
HatHats Coffee Company celebrates its first year of operating the Reculver Visitor Centre with a prestigious award nomination in the ‘Best Independent Café/Tearoom’ category in Kent Life Food & Drink Awards 2018.
HatHats Coffee’s founding Director Louis Hurst said ‘What an end to an amazing year! We have worked really hard with various stakeholders to put Reculver back on the map and receiving a nomination for such an impressive award within our first year of trading is truly amazing.’
The award, which celebrates the very best in food and drink across Kent, takes place every October. The nominees have been voted for by members of the public VIA online submissions.
HatHats Coffee opened its doors in Reculver on the 19th August 2017 and has a commitment to creating a sense of space for the community. Since opening it has raised over £8000 for charity and community projects and served 38,211 Cups of Coffee, 19,425 Cups of their Premium Hot Chocolate and 17,836 Cups of Tea.
It also has had over 11,000 people utilise its Coastal Classroom and staged numerous events including attracting over 3000 people to its Reindeer event in December.
In 2018 The Reculver County Park was awarded the esteemed Green Flag accreditation for it’s good practice and well managed green spaces which allow members of the public to experience the outdoors safely, no matter where they live.
Louis Hurst added ‘we are honestly delighted to be gradually becoming part of the fabric of Reculver. The Green Flag award, our nomination for the 2018 KEiBA awards and now to be a finalist in the Food & Drink Awards is a testimony to the hard work all of the fabulous stakeholders are putting into the area’
The awards are announced on the 15th October at a black-tie event at the Ashford International Hotel.
